Finnish artist and painter Heikki Marila won the Carnegie Art Award of one million Swedish crowns (109000 euro) in 2011. The jury was impressed by Marila´s large flower still lifes inspired by existing old masterworks. Carnegie Art Award, established by the Swedish Carnegie Investment bank, is one of the biggest awards in the art world. Marila is the second winner from Finland.
